Literacy Intervention and Leadership for Special Educators

The Literacy Intervention and Leadership for Special Educators (LIL) Team provides services and supports to promote accelerated growth in literacy intervention for students with IEPs. The LIL Team provides support through: 1) developing and organizing Professional Learning in literacy intervention, 2) individual problem solving with district leadership teams to build a systems literacy intervention continuum, and 3) educator support.

Mission Statement
To promote accelerated literacy growth through specialized interventions for students with IEPs who receive core ELA instruction in general education classrooms.

Definition of Specialized instruction:  300.39(b)(3) specially designed instruction means adapting, as appropriate to the needs of an eligible child under this part, the content, methodology, or delivery if instruction to access the unique needs of the child that results from the child’s disability, to ensure access of the child to the general curriculum, so that the child can meet the educational standards within jurisdiction of public agency.
